Sustainability

  • Cold Pack Gel Packs

    • Our Cold Pack is a non-toxic propreitary blend.

    • Our Cold Packs are 100% recyclable including the polyethylene bag.

    • Our Cold Packs and materials are 100% Made in America.

    • Our Cold Packs have a thicker bag than many of our competitors, allowing the product to be reused multiple times if handled properly.

    • Our Cold Packs are used in order fulfillment every day throughout the country. We are a Cold Chain Supply Chain supplier.

    • Our Cold Packs are FDA Compliant.

  • Cold Pack Box

    • The foam is secured by a sustainable forestry corrugated box and the stamp is on the bottom.

    • Various studies show Polystyrene has a 10% greater carbon footprint overall when compared to polyurethane (our foam box), and others show about an equal footprint. It depends on the complexity of the studies.

    • Polyurethane is recycled easily and often through:

      • Rebond – Nearly a billion pounds of reclaimed polyurethane scrap was used in 2010 to create rebond cushioning used as carpet underlay.

      • Mattresses – 800 pounds of polyurethane foam is recovered each day from one mattress-recycling facility in Alameda County California alone, for repurpose.

      • Recycled Content Raw Materials – A manufacturer in Michigan provides raw materials for polyurethanes with up to 70 percent recycled content that is used in the automotive industry.

    • Polyurethane produces few to zero hazardous emissions in the forming process.

    • Polyurethane is not a dangerous good or hazardous material in raw form.

    • Polyurethane demonstrates about twice the resistance to heat that polystyrene (EPS).

    • Polyurethane has better load-bearing factors, due to a flexibility value that EPS does not have. We can stack heavy products on top and band it. You cannot do that with EPS.

    • Capable of Maintaining 2-8 Degree Celsius During a 72 Hour shipping cycle keeping shipping costs at a minimum.

    • Our product holds 68F or lower for up to 4 days in transit.

    • Reduces the amount of coolant needed to maintain temperature requirements.

    • Insulation value is higher than EPS and can hold temperatures longer.

    • The high R-value allows the ability to ship smaller coolers reducing shipping space.

    • Custom sizes to exact specifications allowing the ability to ship anything.

    • Multiple densities to suit specific needs.

    • Custom numbering or lettering to personalize shipping containers.

    • Inexpensive, sustainable wooden tooling.

    • Coolers are reusable and are more durable than EPS coolers.

    • Polyurethane Foam coolers do not contain CFCs, HCFCs, or chemicals associated with the depletion of the ozone layer.

    • Polystyrene uses large amounts of steel and aluminum for tooling molds. We use 100% wooden molds and tooling for forming and curing our polyurethane.
